Telangana Urdu Academy To Honour 173 Teachers with Best Urdu Teacher Award For 2022 And 2023

Hyderabad: The Telangana Urdu Academy has announced that it will confer the prestigious Best Urdu Teacher Award to 173 outstanding Urdu teachers from across the state for the years 2022 and 2023. This initiative is part of the Academy’s continuous efforts to promote and preserve the Urdu language and honor those who have contributed to its growth.

According to Tahir Bin Hamdan, Chairman of the Telangana Urdu Academy, the award ceremony will take place on August 19 at 11 AM at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bashir Bagh, King Kothi Road, Hyderabad. The event will be held under the patronage of Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, with State Minority Welfare Minister A. Laxman Kumar as the Chief Guest. The program will be presided over by Chairman Tahir Bin Hamdan himself.

Distinguished Guests
The ceremony will witness the presence of several prominent dignitaries, including:

  • Union Minister for Coal and Minerals
  • Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikram Mallu
  • State Transport Minister Poonam Prabhakar
  • Hyderabad Mayor G. Vijayalakshmi
  • Rajya Sabha MP M. Anil Kumar Yadav
  • Hyderabad MP Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi
  • Advisor to Telangana Government on SC & Minorities Muhammad Ali Shabbir
  • Council members Mirza Riazul Hassan Effendi, Mirza Rehmat Baig, Aamir Ali Khan, and Raja Singh (MLA, Goshamahal)
  • B. Shafiullah, Secretary & Commissioner, Minority Welfare

Several other special invitees and distinguished personalities will also attend the event.

About the Awards
The Best Urdu Teacher Award is one of the key schemes introduced by the Telangana Urdu Academy to recognize and encourage the efforts of Urdu teachers across the state. For the year 2022, 73 teachers have been selected from 130 nominations, and for 2023, 100 teachers have been chosen from 198 nominations, making a total of 173 awardees.

Director and Secretary of the Academy, Sajjad Ali, stated that all selected teachers should report to the venue by 9:30 AM for registration at the reception counter. Awardees are required to carry valid identification (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, or Teacher ID) – both original and photocopy.

Sajjad Ali further urged Urdu enthusiasts and members of the community to attend the ceremony in large numbers to celebrate and honor the teachers who have dedicated their lives to promoting the Urdu language.

List of Selected Teachers
Teachers from various districts, including Adilabad, Hanumakonda, Jagtial, Jangaon, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar, Mancherial, Medak, Medchal, Nalgonda, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Rangareddy, Sangareddy, Siddipet, Suryapet, Vikarabad, Wanaparthy, Warangal, Yadadri Bhongir, Hyderabad, and others will receive the award. Names of the awardees include Nayar Jahan Ara, Muhammad Qamaruddin, Naseem Sharif, Amna Akhtar, Abdul Wajid, Ishrat Bano, Rashida Begum, Halima Parveen, Ishrat Sultana, Muhammad Mustafa Ahmed, among others.

The full list of awardees includes prominent teachers from government schools, private institutions, and universities such as Teachers University, Satavahana University, and Government Nizamiya Medical College.
