Telugu Actor-Comedian Fish Venkat Dies At 53

Hyderabad: Popular Telugu actor Fish Venkat, whose real name is Venkat Raj, passed away at a private hospital here on Friday following a prolonged battle with kidney-related ailments. He was 53.

The actor’s family admitted him to the hospital a few days ago after his kidney condition worsened, resulting in complete kidney failure.

Recently, Fish Venkat’s daughter had said that doctors had recommended a kidney transplant but the family was unable to afford the expensive medical procedure.

In a video statement, she said, “Daddy is not well and in a serious condition. He’s been kept in the ICU. He requires a kidney transplant, which will cost us at least Rs. 50 lakh.”

The Hyderabad-born actor began his career in Tollywood in the early 2000s with a small role in the film Kushi. He was known for his impeccable comic timing and memorable performances. Over the years, he became a household name for his roles in films like Bunny, Adhurs, Dhee, and Mirapakay.
