Tension At Durvesh Ali Dargah After Shed Demolition Sparks Clash Between Villagers And BJP Workers
Sircilla/Hyderabad, May 27 (Maxim News): Demolition of a shed constructed at Durvesh Ali dargah located near Singaram village of Yellareddypet mandal created tension as the villagers tried to attack BJP workers.
Dargah, located on the hillocks, became popular as people from surrounding areas visit it and celebrate small rituals. So, organizers constructed a shed near the dargah for the convenience of devotees.
BJP activists lodged a complaint with the collector stating that in order to occupy nearby government land, organizers have constructed the shed near the dargah.
Villagers, who are leading lives by depending on the Dargah established by small businesses, met the officials and informed them that the shed was not constructed by occupying government land.
As BJP leaders mounted pressure on the officials, revenue officials demolished the shed at around 4.30 am on Tuesday. Villagers felt disappointed after knowing about the demolition.
On the other hand, BJP leaders had decided to conduct a press meet at Durshevali dargah. Knowing about it, villagers had decided to attack the BJP cadres and lay in wait for them on the outskirts of the village.
However, the BJP leaders, who reached the village in two cars, fled after seeing villagers waiting for them by leaving one activist at the spot. When the villagers tried to attack him, alerted police shifted him from the spot to a police vehicle.
Later, BJP leaders led by district president Reddaboina Gopi tried to visit the dargah but police prevented them in the outskirts of Narayanpur and shifted them to the police station.
DSP Chandrashekhar, CI Srinivas Goud, SI Ramakanth, and others monitored the situation. (Maxim News)
