Tension At The New Khammam Collectorate: Gates Closed

Khammam/Hyderabad, Aug 16 (Maxim News):  A tense atmosphere prevailed at Khammam’s new collectorate. The leaders of all the political parties have given the call to seize the Khammam Collectorate.  The Police were alerted in the wake of the call, and with this, the police closed the gates of Khammam Collectorate. In this order, the leader of the All Party protested on the road.

The leaders of all parties are demanding to change the alignment of Nagpur-Amaravati Green Field Highway.  They demanded to convert Greenfield Highway into Brownfield Highway.  The party leaders are demanding that the farmers who are losing their lands as part of the highway expansion should be compensated according to the private market value.

CPI State Secretary Koonanneni Sambasiva Rao told the media at the Collectorate. The farmer’s struggle is not against anyone.  the farmer is looked down.  If the employees go on strike, the governments come to the feet of the employees.  The farmer does not have that situation.  If you make trouble with the police, we will seize Khammam.  Our lands will be left for us only if we fight.  They are building roads that they don’t want.  they are not building the roads they want.  BRS government is not in a position to listen if we tell them, he made harsh comments.

CPM State Secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram said Farmers’ land struggle has reached an extreme level.  The struggle will be successful only with the sacrifice and courage shown by the farmers.  The CPM party fully supports the farmers’ struggle.  Farmers are not acting against the law.  The government is acting against the law.  Farmer’s struggle is not a street struggle but a legal struggle.  The law requires the government to take land from farmers only if 90 percent of the farmers agree.  The government has the right to take the land that causes the least damage. 3 times the market value should be given to the farmers.  They demanded that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao should support the farmers under the Land Acquisition Act. (Maxim News)
