Despite attempts by faculty to stop them, the students gathered at the town square and raised slogans, insisting on the principal’s suspension. As the protest intensified, police personnel arrived and began detaining students in an attempt to disperse the crowd. During this process, a female constable lost patience and hit one of the students. This act further angered the protesting students, leading to a heated clash where some pulled the constable’s hair and beat her on the road.

Eyewitnesses noted that the situation escalated quickly as students confronted the police, asking, “If we are protesting for justice, will you beat us?” The incident stunned onlookers and heightened tension in the area. The altercation eventually led police to forcibly take several students away in police vehicles and move them to the local police station.

Later, Zonal Officer Nirmala intervened and responded to the grievances raised by the students. She assured them that a committee would investigate their claims and that action would be taken within 10 days. However, the students declared they would not stop their agitation until the District Collector arrived and resolved the situation. The police action, including the forcible detention of students and the clash between the constable and protestors, left students and residents unsettled and increased scrutiny on campus management practices.
