The revelation came after the Delhi Police expanded their inquiry following the Red Fort blasts. During the investigation, national media representatives reportedly contacted her ex-husband, Hayat, seeking details about Shaheen’s past. He shared insights into her background and personal life before their separation.

Hayat said that Shaheen completed her pulmonology studies in 2006 and that their marriage was arranged by elders. He recalled that during their marriage, she was free from religious restrictions and had dreams of settling abroad. “We both wanted to settle in Europe and Australia,” Hayat explained, adding that disagreements about settling in Australia led to growing differences. The couple eventually divorced in 2012, and he said they have not spoken since then.

Meanwhile, Shaheen’s father, Ahmed Ansari, expressed disbelief over the allegations against his daughter. “I have three children. Shaheen is my second child. She studied medicine. I cannot believe that such a girl would be involved in terrorist activities. It has been a year since we met. I last spoke to her last month,” he said.

The ongoing investigation continues to gather details about Shaheen’s alleged efforts to build a network of women sympathizers in India. Security agencies are also examining her possible connections to foreign handlers of Jaish-e-Mohammed. Officials have not yet disclosed further findings but indicated that the case remains under active scrutiny.
