The Face of North Telangana has Changed with Completion of Kaleshwaram: Harish Rao
Siddipet, Sept.26 (Maxim News): Finance Minister T Harish Rao said the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation project has changed the face of North Telangana, which once used to witness drought like situation with barren lands, is now seen as a green carpet of paddy fields.
Speaking at a program after inaugurating a Panchayat building, Mahila Bhavan, and Double Bedroom house at Ramunipatla village of Chinna Koduru Mandal in Siddipet district on Monday, Minister Harish Rao said that with the completion of the Kaleshwaram project, the Telangana has witnessed many changes, including the availability of irrigation water, increasing groundwater levels, variety of crops and greenery and flora and fauna.
He said the Rythu Bandhu scheme is being offered to about 60,000 farmers in Telangana and the cultivation area of paddy has increased enormously in the State.
With the availability of irrigation water and increasing cultivation area, there is a huge demand for farm laborers. The people from other States are now coming to Telangana and are engaged in agricultural work. Right now, the Telangana is not only giving a livelihood to us but also providing employment to the people of other States, Harish Rao said.
Criticizing the anti-people policies of the BJP government at the Centre, the Minister said that the prices of daily commodities have become doubled and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cheated the youth of the country by failing to fulfill his promise of providing two lakh jobs annually.
