Three Arrested In Rs. 3.5 Lakh Burglary Case in Jeedimetla, Cash and Mobile Phone Recovered
Hyderabad, July 7 (Maxim News):In a swift breakthrough, the Jeedimetla Police on Monday arrested three burglars involved in the theft of ₹3.5 lakh cash and a mobile phone from a residence in SR Naik Nagar Colony earlier this month.
The accused were identified as Mohd Asif, a milk vendor and the prime suspect, along with his associates Mohd Afsar and Mohd Ameer. All three are residents of the same locality.
Inside Job: Employee Turns Thief
According to P. Naresh Reddy, ACP of Balanagar, Asif had insider knowledge about the victim Sangamesh’s routine and cash handling, having worked at his milk distribution center. He hatched a plan to steal the money from Sangamesh’s house and roped in his two friends for the job.
On the night of July 2, the trio broke into the house while Sangamesh was away and escaped with the cash and a mobile phone.
Caught During Vehicle Check
Acting on a complaint filed by Sangamesh, police launched an investigation. The breakthrough came during a routine vehicle check at Shapurnagar, where the trio was intercepted and confessed to the crime during questioning.
Police have since recovered ₹2.1 lakh in cash and a stolen mobile phone from the accused. Efforts are on to trace the remaining stolen money.
ACP’s Statement
“It was a clear case of betrayal by a trusted employee. Thanks to timely coordination and patrolling, our team was able to crack the case within a few days,” said ACP P. Naresh Reddy.
The trio is currently in police custody and will be produced before the magistrate for judicial remand.
