Three Missing Girls Rescued by Secunderabad Police

Hyderabad, July 26: Secunderabad police rescued three girls who went missing from Domalguda after tracing them to Chhattisgarh. The children have been brought back to Hyderabad and shifted to the Sakhi Bharosa Centre for medical examination, counselling and legal formalities.

Secunderabad Deputy Commissioner of Police Rakshita Krishnamurthy said the girls went missing on July 19. Following a complaint from their mother, police registered a case and launched an intensive search.

Five special teams were formed to trace the children. During the investigation, police examined CCTV footage and tracked the girls’ movements from Domalguda to Himayathnagar.

The footage showed the girls boarding an auto at around 2 am and travelling to Kacheguda. They later took another auto to Gate No. 8 of Secunderabad Railway Station, stayed briefly on Platform No. 6, crossed the railway tracks towards James Street and boarded a local train.

Further investigation revealed that the girls boarded the Danapur Express from Secunderabad Railway Station and travelled to Dhanker district in Chhattisgarh.

According to the DCP, the girls sought shelter with a person known to them. When they requested work, the individual became suspicious and alerted the local police.

Telangana Police coordinated with the Chhattisgarh Police, who traced the girls and took them into safe custody before handing them over to the Hyderabad police team.

The girls are currently staying at the Sakhi Bharosa Centre, where they are undergoing medical tests, counselling and other legal procedures. Police said they are expected to be reunited with their parents after the completion of the required formalities in the next two days.

The DCP said the family had shifted to Domalguda in 2024. Based on the girls’ statements, they left home following frequent arguments between their parents.
