The UP government has made arrangements to provide three-tier security to the family of the Hathras victim.
Following the Supreme Court order, the government set up CCTV cameras in the premises of the victim’s family home in Bhulgari village.
Hathras Joint Collector Prem Prakash Meena said the cameras were installed after the consent of the family members. Metal detectors were also set up to check everyone who came to consult them. The government has made these arrangements in the wake of the Supreme Court order directing it to inform them by October 8 what steps have been taken to provide protection to the victim’s family.
On the other hand, the victim’s father said that he was scared to be in the village and could not bear the blame. Tears were shed that the rumors circulating about themselves and their daughter were causing them severe grief. Threats to kill are also coming. He said they only knew how to work hard, so they could go anywhere and survive. After the incident, everyone in the village was angry that their distance was shrinking.
