Hyderabad, March 01: TiE Hyderabad launched the 7th edition of TiE Women 2026 during the Women Entrepreneurs Special Edition of TiE OpenMic. The event took place at Akan near Durgam Cheruvu on Friday night. With this launch, the chapter set a target of 200 applicants this year.

TiE Women 2026 Targets 200 Applicants Across Telangana
Addressing the gathering, Murali Kakarla stressed that language should not stop women from joining the initiative. “Let language not stop women from participating,” he said. He added that women founders from rural backgrounds can pitch in the TiE Women 2026 challenge in Telugu. This step, he said, will encourage those comfortable in Telugu.
He also clarified that there is no entry fee to take part in the TiE Women program. Meanwhile, the chapter will conduct roadshows in Tier 2 cities of Telangana such as Nizamabad, Warangal and Karimnagar. Later, it plans to expand outreach to other regions as well.
50 Per Cent Membership Discount Announced in March
To encourage more participation, the TiE Hyderabad Board announced a 50 per cent discount on Associate and Charter Membership fees. However, this offer is open only to women who register on or before March 31.
Ankit Sanjay Shah, TiE Hyderabad Committee Chair for TiE Women, described the initiative as a flagship global program. He said it collaborates with over 60 TiE chapters worldwide to support women entrepreneurs through mentorship, investor connects, networking and development programs. Each chapter selects one woman entrepreneur for the Global Pitch Competition, which will take place in Jaipur later this year.
Over the years, TiE Hyderabad has engaged and mentored more than 600 women entrepreneurs. More than 100 received structured mentorship support. The initiative has also facilitated over $352,000 in equity free grants.
Highlighting past success, Murali Kakarla said last year’s winner, Sowmya Darapaneni, Founder of Avinya Neurotech, was featured on the TiE50 and TGS100 global lists. Shanthala Veigas, Senior Director, TiE Hyderabad, added that the program will expand outreach to Nizamabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, Khammam and other parts of Telangana. Last year, the initiative received 103 applications.
The launch event brought together entrepreneurs, aspiring founders and investors. Women entrepreneurs across Telangana are invited to apply for TiE Women 2026 through the official application link.
