Tirumala Devotee Rush Increases During Weekend

Tirumala, May 9: Devotee rush at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has increased sharply due to summer holidays and the weekend. Heavy crowds continued at the hill shrine on Saturday morning.

All compartments at the Vaikuntham Queue Complex were filled with devotees. Many pilgrims were also seen waiting in outside queue lines for darshan.

Officials said devotees without special tokens were taking nearly 18 hours to get Sarva Darshan of Lord Venkateswara.

Tirumala devotee rush rises during summer holidays

According to TTD officials, 67,222 devotees visited the temple on Friday. Among them, 33,188 devotees offered their hair as part of religious vows.

The temple also received strong hundi collections during the day. Officials said offerings from devotees generated an income of Rs. 3.9 crore for the shrine.

Authorities are continuing crowd management measures to handle the growing inflow of pilgrims at Tirumala.
