The Tourism Reels Bootcamp was organised by the Tourism Committee of the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry in association with CreatorWerse, described as India’s First Content Factory. The workshop attracted 58 participants from different age groups and backgrounds. The organisers focused on practical learning. Therefore, participants will also attend an outdoor practical session next Saturday, January 24. During this session, they will create reels at three tourism locations to gain real world experience.

Dr Mani Pavitra, Founder of CreatorWerse, facilitated the Tourism Reels Bootcamp. Hyderabad based CreatorWerse functions as an execution focused content school and a leading content creator academy. Dr Pavitra is a serial entrepreneur and a gold medalist orthodontist who moved from clinical practice to entrepreneurship, coaching, and content creation. Over the past year, more than 50,000 reels have been created through CreatorWerse bootcamps. During this period, over 550 professionals, business owners, and doctors produced original content.

The bootcamp took place against the backdrop of the ongoing Tourism Reel Contest announced by the FTCCI Tourism Committee. The contest focuses on “Tourism Weekend Getaways of Hyderabad.” It aims to generate high quality reels that showcase Telangana tourism potential, including popular and lesser known destinations. Meanwhile, FTCCI leaders stressed the economic role of digital content.

“The objective was to promote Telangana Tourism by creating strong digital visibility for our destinations. Reels today can influence travel choices and generate real economic impact,” said D. Ramchandram, Co Chairman, Tourism Committee, FTCCI.

Dr Mani Pavitra shared insights on digital virality. “The first three seconds decide everything. If a reel doesn’t hook instantly, it gets skipped — and the algorithm takes note. When viewers don’t skip, Instagram pushes the reel to non-followers. Viral reels are not luck; they are a mix of strategy, psychology, and timing.” He added: “Reels don’t go viral because they are good — they go viral because they are not skipped.

Virality is not an algorithm trick; it is an emotional connection multiplied.”

Highlighting short form video impact, D. Ramchandram said, “Reels are not a trend — they are the future of digital communication. Over 40,000 crore reels are watched globally every day. The human brain processes video 60,000 times faster than text. In today’s digital era, if you don’t know how to make reels, you will struggle to be seen online.” He further noted, “Content is king, original content is king, video content is king, and short-form video is the real king.”

Prakash Ammanabolu, Chairman, Tourism Committee, FTCCI, echoed this view. He said, “Attention is the new currency. People no longer read brochures — they feel destinations through reels. A tourism reel is not just a video; it is a first impression, and first impressions decide journeys.” He added, “Travel decisions today are made while scrolling, even before a Google search. Reels turn ordinary places into destinations. A 30-second reel can fill hotel rooms, generate jobs, support local vendors, and boost footfall for small businesses. Today, every traveller is a tourism ambassador.”

A participant observed, “Reels are easy to watch but difficult to make — and even harder to make viral.” Sangeeta, Director, FTCCI, said the Tourism Reels Bootcamp aimed to empower travellers and tourism stakeholders with practical skills to promote weekend tourism around Hyderabad.
