Toxic Movie | Hyderabad, August 31: BJP MLA Raja Singh said he walked out of the Toxic movie soon after it began, citing what he described as excessive obscenity, drug use and violence.
Singh said he went to watch the film with his friends. However, he said he left the theatre after watching only the initial part of the movie.
According to Singh, families should avoid watching Toxic because of its content. He claimed that the film contains extensive scenes involving obscenity, drugs, killing and violence.
Singh questioned the social message conveyed by the film. He said filmmakers should consider their responsibility towards society while creating movies.
“Movies should give society a good message instead of focusing only on obscenity, violence and making money,” Singh said.
Toxic Movie: Raja Singh Calls for Responsible Cinema
Singh compared Toxic with other films that he said carry stronger social or cultural messages.
He referred to Raviteja’s Irumbu Thirai as an example of a film that, according to him, highlights spirituality, society and responsibility.
He also cited Chhaava as another example. Singh said the film presents the courage and bravery of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj while highlighting Dharma and patriotism.
Singh said such themes should receive greater attention in cinema. He urged directors to think about the wider impact of their films on society.
He also criticised what he described as a mindset of relying on obscenity and violence to attract audiences and earn money.
Singh appealed to filmmakers to consider social responsibility while developing stories and presenting content on screen.
His comments come as a criticism of the content he said he witnessed in Toxic. However, his remarks represent his personal assessment of the film and its themes.
