TRS, BJP enacting ‘mutual exchange of BC leaders’ to lure Munugode voters: Congress

Hyderabad, Oct.22 (NSS): TPCC Working president Mahesh Kumar Goud today ridiculed the hype being created by TRS and BJP over ‘joining’ or ‘rejoining’ of some leaders belonging to Backward Classes. “The shifting of loyalties by some TRS and BJP leaders was nothing but a ‘mutual exchange of leaders to cheat the Munugode voters ahead of by-elections. Both TRS and BJP are pursuing immoral and unethical politics. Both parties have sensed a humiliating defeat in Munugode at the hands of Congress and therefore, they are jointly enacting dramas to attract the attention of voters, especially those belonging to BC communities,” he said.

Mahesh Kumar Goud, in a media statement on Saturday, said instead of using BC leaders as poster boys for the campaign, both TRS and BJP must explain the initiatives taken by their governments in Telangana and at the Centre for the welfare of BCs. “Neither BJP Govt at the Centre nor TRS Govt in Telangana did anything to empower BCs. Since there is nothing worth taking credit for, TRS and BJP are distracting the voters from their failures by indulging in ‘mutual exchange’ of leaders,” he said, adding that both the parties would enact more such dramas in the next few days.

The TPCC Working President said the Munugode voters were not only conscious but enlightened. “Although BJP and TRS are trying hard to lure the Munugode voters by offering cash and liquor, they are facing disappointment in every village. People of Munugode are confronting the BJP and TRS on every street and questioning their failures. The recent example is Jaikisaram village where locals raised slogans against freshly-joined BJP leader Boora Narsaiah Goud and greeted him with the ‘Go Back’ slogans,” he said.

Mahesh Kumar Goud said Congress candidate Palvai Shravanti has been receiving tremendous response across the Munugode constituency. While BJP and TRS leaders are facing huge rejection in many areas, all sections of the society, especially BCs, are extending a warm welcome to the Congress candidate, he said, adding that the Congress party would win the Munugode by-elections with a huge majority.
