TRS ready for PM’s idea of ‘one nation-one election’ idea
Hyderabad, July 8 (Maxim News): Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today clarified to Law Commission that the TRS is ready for conducting Assembly elections for all states at a time in the country from 2019.
TRS MP B Vinod Kumar informed this to the Law Commission which conducted a special meeting of all political parties that discussed on the same issue in Delhi. Later talking to media persons Vinod said that the TRS is ready for combined elections if conducted simultaneously. I have presented a letter written by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in this regard he said.
There is a feeling of early elections and we are ready for any time and informed the same to the EC he said. This debate has been going on for decades and not raked up just now by Modi Government or the BJP, Vinod Kumar said.
The Law Commission is discussing the issue since 1986 and some political parties and states are not ready for uniform type of elections as their governments elected in an assorted way he said. Combined elections for parliament and assembly at a time will prove handy for better and full time governance both in the Centre and in the states as also it will prevent wastage of money and time. In 2019 two Telugu States are going for polls and we feel let others go for the same he said. Elections are being held in any one of the states every year even during Modi government at the Centre. Conducting elections in all states same time is suggestible to avoid wastage of money and time he opined. (Maxim News)
