TS BJP Condemns TMC-CPM Attack On Amit Rallly In Kolkata
Hyderabad, May 15 (Maxim News): State BJP strongly condemned attack on national party president Amit Shah’s peace rally by combined forces of TMC and CPM in Kolkata. It said the violent attack by the goons forecast the writing on the wall that, in line with the rest of India, the political scene in Bengal is also between BJP and the rest. Therefore, the traditional rivals have come together on Tuesday to attack the peace rally of Amit Shah.
“The Government of West Bengal is solely responsible for the unfortunate incidents that followed the attack on the peace rally in Kolkata yesterday. It is evident that the goons of DYFI, SFI and students of the TMC have come together to hatch a conspiracy to foil the rally of Amit Shah. The incidents of arson and violence were preplanned and orchestrated”, the State party leaders have alleged. They also alleged that “They did it deliberately, for the rally received tremendous support from all across the State which reflected in the massive turnout for the rally. What is unfortunate in the entire episode was complicity of Kolkata police and their overt support to vandalism.
The TMC knew that Sri Amit Shah peace rally got tremendous support from all across the state. The provocation in fact began with police removing the flags and posters which were erected enroute the rally of Sri Amit Shah which is a normal practice for any political party. By choosing to remove the posters and flags meant for the rally, by taking recourse to the unprovoked lathi-charge on the BJP workers and people in general who have come in large number in support of BJP and obviously against the TMC anarchy, the police proved provocative.
BJP workers maintained restraint in spite of provocation and violence by the combined force of the TMC and CPM. It is irony of sorts that TMC which owes its growth to its fight against CPM’s barbaric and horrific rule, which fought its violence, taking recourse to the same violence.
It is also irony that CPM and TMC today came together in attacking the BJP unable to digest the fact that BJP is growing faster in the state. TMC is fast losing its base and CPM fighting for its identity – both will get a lesson in the ensuing/ongoing elections. BJP’s growth in Bengal can’t be stopped by taking recourse to violence.
