Hyderabad, March 25 (Maxim News): Industries minister KT Rama Rao today informed the house that Telangana is one of the fast urban developing states in India.
He said that the government has been offering adequate funds for urban development in the state. We have offered Rs 148 cr every month towards basic facilities and infrastructure to cater rapid urbanization needs, the minister said. In this Rs 78 Cr was given to GHMC and Rs 70 Cr for municipalities he said adding that Rs 1766 Cr last year in this regard he informed the house.
The minister attributed timely release of the funds to the commitment of the. Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. The TRS Government is for development of the municipalities and corporations he said. As per requirement of rapid urbanisation our government is for their development KTR said.
The minister listed out various programs being executed by the government — permission given 14408 structures under TS bPASS, spending Rs 268 Cr for Kokapet layout to get Rs 2500 Cr, Rs 387 Cr for a flyover at Balanagar. He also said that HMDA is developing modern skywalks, flyovers and roads in the city. Towns will get integrated markets and Rsc250 Cr given to Warangal corporation he added.
Keeping rapid urbanisation and city development we earmarked Rs 2381 Cr in the budget to meet needs by 2050 the minister said. KTR said that the government offers 9714 Cr for double bedroom housing facility. Highways and roads development through SRDP, the minister said. (Maxim News)
