Rs 50K Pension For Health To Former MLAs: Harish

Hyderabad, March 25 (Maxim News): Finance Minister T Harish Rao today informed the house in the budget session that the government proposes to hike the pension for former MLAs to Rs 50000 from the existing Rs 30000. He introduced a bill in this regard and urged the speaker for the procedures to pass the bill.

He also said that the government proposes to increase the upper ceiling to about Rs 75000 for the former legislators. The chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is kind enough on the practical problems of the old and retired MLAs, Harish Rao said.

Since they face health and age related problems the government will try to address the minister maintained. The chief minister has instructed to provide Rs 10 lakhs of financial assistance to the MLAs and their spouses for health services, Harish Rao said.

The minister extended thanks to the chief minister for trying to allay fears and address the problems of the former legislators. With this bill the retired legislators will get relief, the minister hoped. (Maxim News)
