Hyderabad Marathon 2026 | Hyderabad, August 27: Traffic police have issued a detailed advisory ahead of the 14th edition of the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, August 30, warning commuters about diversions across Hyderabad and Cyberabad.

Traffic restrictions and diversions will be in place at several locations between 4 am and 11:30 am on Sunday. The marathon itself will run from 5 am to 11:30 am.

The event will feature three categories: the 42.195-km full marathon, 21.097-km half marathon and 10-km run.

The full and half marathons will begin at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road, while the 10-km run will start at Hitex Exhibition Hall in Khanamet, Madhapur.

All three routes will converge before finishing at GMC Balayogi Stadium in Gachibowli.

The full and half marathon routes will pass through Jubilee Hills, enter Cyberabad via Road No. 45 and continue through the Cable Bridge, ITC Kohinoor, Mindspace, Bio-Diversity Junction, Gachibowli Flyover and IIIT Junction.

The 10-km route will begin at Hitex and pass through the NAC main gate, CII Junction, Tech Mahindra and Bio-Diversity Junction before joining the final stretch towards the stadium.

Heavy vehicles, including trucks, lorries, DCMs, ready-mix concrete vehicles and water tankers, will not be allowed on marathon routes falling under the Madhapur, Raidurgam, Gachibowli and Kollur Traffic Police Station limits.

These restrictions will remain in force between 5 am and 12:30 pm.

Cab, auto and taxi aggregator operators have also been advised to avoid pick-ups and drop-offs along the restricted stretches during this period.

The traffic advisory lists 16 diversion points across the affected areas.

Key diversions include:

  • Traffic from Shaikpet Flyover towards Lingampally will be diverted via Khajaguda Junction, Nanakramguda and Gopanpally.
  • Traffic from Lingampally towards Mehdipatnam will be diverted at Masjidbanda T-Junction through Botanical Garden, Anjaiah Nagar and the ORR before rejoining at Khajaguda Junction.
  • Traffic from Kondapur and Kothaguda towards Cyber Towers will be redirected through Anjaiah Nagar, Rolling Hills and Durgam Cheruvu.
  • Diversions will also be implemented at IKEA Junction, Gachibowli Junction and Wipro Junction.
  • Traffic near Botanical Signal Junction, Nalagandla Flyover, Gulmohar Junction and Kothaguda Flyover Y-Junction will also be redirected.
  • Alternative routes will include stretches of the Outer Ring Road (ORR), Old Mumbai Highway and Hafeezpet Flyover.

Commuters travelling through Gachibowli, Madhapur, Raidurgam, Kondapur, Jubilee Hills and surrounding areas have been advised to plan their journeys in advance.

Traffic police have urged motorists to follow instructions from personnel deployed along the routes and use alternative roads wherever possible to avoid delays during the marathon.
