TS To Launch Farmers Insurance Scheme In August

Telangana State government has decided to provide insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh to a whopping 58 lakh farmers in the State, be it accidental or natural death. The State government, in association with Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), will launch the novel scheme on August 15.

Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday announced that the State government will bear the entire premium cost for all farmers which will be paid on August 1 every year. He said the insurance policy certificates will be handed over to farmers on August 15 for the current fiscal.
