The suspended individuals include:

  • B. Elizar, Deputy Executive Engineer (Quality Control)
  • S. Rosi, Staff Nurse at BIRRD Hospital
  • M. Premavathi, Grade-I Pharmacist at BIRRD Hospital
  • Dr. G. Asuntha, associated with SV Ayurveda Pharmacy

According to a press release issued by the TTD on Saturday, the action was taken based on a report submitted by the TTD Vigilance Department, along with other supporting evidence. Officials stated that the employees had failed to adhere to the religious guidelines of the institution and acted irresponsibly in their roles within one of the country’s most revered Hindu religious organizations.

“Departmental action has been initiated against the employees as per institutional rules, and they have been suspended with immediate effect,” said the TTD in its official statement.

The decision has reignited the ongoing debate about religious adherence within Hindu religious institutions, especially those like the TTD, which manages the world-famous Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala and has strict protocols regarding faith and conduct for its employees.

TTD has emphasized that its code of conduct clearly requires all employees, particularly those working in the core religious institutions and services, to follow and respect Hindu traditions.

The suspension is expected to spark wider conversations around religious identity, secular employment, and institutional norms in religious bodies across India.
