Two Andhra Pradesh DSPs Killed in Tragic Road Accident Near Hyderabad

Hyderabad, July 26 (Maxim News): In a tragic road accident, two Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) from Andhra Pradesh lost their lives after their vehicle collided with a lorry near Kanthapuram in Choutuppal mandal, under Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, early on Friday.

The deceased officers have been identified as DSP Chakradhar Rao and DSP Shantha Rao, who were reportedly returning to Hyderabad from Vijayawada along with Additional SP Prasad and their driver, Narsing Rao. The group was traveling in a police vehicle when the fatal crash occurred.

How the Accident Happened

Initial reports suggest that the vehicle veered off course after hitting a divider and entered the opposite lane, where it collided head-on with a lorry coming from the Vijayawada direction. The impact was severe, and both DSPs died on the spot.

The driver, Narsing Rao, sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital. Doctors have described his condition as critical. Additional SP Prasad and other occupants are said to have escaped with minor injuries.

Officers Belonged to Intelligence and Security Wing

Sources confirmed that both DSPs were serving in the Intelligence and Security Wing of the Andhra Pradesh Police. Their sudden demise has left the police force in shock, especially among colleagues who remembered them as dedicated and highly disciplined officers.

Investigation Underway

Local police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident. Speeding, driver fatigue, or mechanical failure are all being explored as possible causes.

Senior officials from the Telangana Police and AP Intelligence units visited the accident site and the hospital where the injured driver is being treated.
