Hyderabad, March 29: Two arrested in Nirmal minor girls assault case after police took action over the kidnapping and assault of two minor girls. The accused allegedly abducted and sedated the victims before committing the crime.
Police arrested two persons from Nirmal town on Sunday. They acted on a complaint filed by the victims’ parents. Therefore, officers registered a case and launched an investigation.
According to police, the accused abducted the girls from Sofinagar. They allegedly sedated them by offering ganja. One girl was assaulted at a park near Pochampahad village in Nizamabad district.
However, the second girl managed to escape. She informed her parents, who then approached the police. As a result, police teams tracked and detained the accused.

Police registered the case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act. In addition, they invoked the SC and ST Prevention of Atrocities Act. The girls belong to weaker sections, officials said.
Teams formed by police located the accused while they moved suspiciously. Meanwhile, the investigation continues to gather further evidence in the case.
Superintendent of Police Dr Janaki Sharmila said strict action will follow. She added that authorities will not tolerate violence against girls. Moreover, she stressed that women’s safety remains a priority.
The incident triggered public concern after details spread on social media. Locals demanded strict punishment for the accused. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
