- Kavitha Targets KCR Era and Revanth Reddy Government
- Announces New Political Platform Under Telangana Jagruthi
Hyderabad, Feb 12: The Udyamakarula Aatmagourava Sabha was held at RTC Kalyana Mandapam in Baghlingampally under the banner of Telangana Jagruthi, drawing participation from over ten Telangana activist organisations and several movement leaders.
The convention witnessed a strong call for what speakers described as a renewed phase of struggle to protect Telangana identity and secure justice for activists.
Addressing the gathering, K. Kavitha sharply criticised successive governments.
She said the biggest betrayal after Telangana’s formation was the continued injustice to movement activists and martyrs’ families.
She stated that while activists remained outside power, she suffered within the BRS without being able to ensure justice.
Although she said she does not intend to personally target former Chief Minister KCR, she asked, “what justice was delivered to activists despite ten years of absolute power?”
Kavitha also targeted the present Congress government. She described it as a historic misfortune that a Chief Minister with no emotional, ideological, or historical connection to the Telangana movement is ruling the state.
She questioned the silence of leaders and intellectuals like Kodandaram and Akunuri Murali, asking why they are not speaking out while activists are being ignored.
She asserted that Telangana’s long history of resistance, including the 1969 agitation and the 2001 movement, demanded recognition of its makers.
She said statues of irrelevant figures are being installed while icons like Gaddar, Biruduraju Ramaraju, and Suddala Hanmanthu are ignored.
Announcing a political shift, Kavitha declared that a new political party will soon be launched. She said it will not be a conventional party but a movement-based platform to protect Telangana’s identity and dignity. She demanded immediate identification and official recognition of Telangana activists, a statutory welfare board, and 20 percent reservation for Telangana youth in private-sector jobs.
She further stated that Telangana Jagruthi has developed a digital enrollment application for activists. She announced health insurance coverage for families of registered activists, irrespective of government action.
She warned that any budget ignoring activists would face resistance and criticised arrests over social media expression.
Concluding her speech, Kavitha said dharma stands with justice, not power.
She called on activists to prepare for renewed resistance, inspired by Chakali Ailamma and Maroju Veeranna, and warned that any government betraying Telangana’s soul will be held accountable.
