Unusual February Heatwave Grips Telangana
Hyderabad: Telangana is experiencing unusually hot weather for February, with temperatures feeling more like peak summer in April and May. In the last two days, Hyderabad has recorded daytime temperatures between 36°C and 37°C, while some districts have already hit 39°C.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad says the heatwave might ease slightly, with temperatures expected to drop by a degree or two between Thursday and Friday. However, the weather will remain hot and dry, with no major changes expected over the next few days.
“February 18 and 19 will be the hottest days of this spell, with temperatures crossing 36°C and 37°C in some parts of Hyderabad. There may be a slight drop between February 20 and 25, but high humidity will still feel hot, with temperatures around 35°C. From February 27, the heat will rise again,” said Hyderabad-based weather forecaster T. Balaji.
People are advised to stay hydrated and take precautions as the heat continues.
