Urban Areas of Jharkhand to be made ODF free by Oct 2 says Raghubar

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today announced that the urban areas of the state would be made free from open defecation by October 2, 2017.

Addressing a workshop organised by the drinking water and sanitation department here, he said that the state government has decided to give Rs 5,000 additional for the toilets to be constructed for the ‘divyangs’ so that they can build the toilets as per their use.

He said, the work of toilet construction under the Swach Bharat Mission should be made a peoples movement as without their cooperation such scheme do not succeed. The Chief Minister said that cleanliness was directly related with the health of the people and said if the villages and the cities are clean than there would be fewer diseases and the problems of malnutrition would be also solved.
