Uttam Kumar Reddy Says Congress Focused On Welfare And Growth
- Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy highlights welfare and civic progress in Jubilee Hills
- Pitches Congress candidate Naveen Yadav as symbol of inclusive development
Hyderabad, Nov 6 (Maxim News): Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy affirmed that the Congress government remains fully committed to welfare delivery and inclusive development across Telangana, particularly in the Jubilee Hills constituency.
Addressing residents at Kolluru on Thursday, he highlighted the government’s achievements and pledged timely completion of pending civic works.
Speaking at an election meeting as part of the by-poll campaign for Congress candidate Naveen Yadav, the Minister said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s government was ensuring that benefits of welfare schemes reached every eligible household. “Under the present Congress government, 14,230 new ration cards have been issued in the Jubilee Hills constituency, enabling 67,354 more people to receive free ration rice every month. Today, 2,39,886 beneficiaries are getting six kilograms of fine-quality rice each,” he stated.
Drawing a comparison with the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regime, Uttam Kumar Reddy said, “In ten years of BRS rule, not a single new ration card was issued in Jubilee Hills.

They distributed only 13,880 metric tonnes of coarse doddu biyyam, while our government has already supplied 17,648 metric tonnes of fine-quality rice. This shows the difference between empty promises and genuine governance.”
The Minister described the Congress administration as people-centric and welfare-driven, focused on social justice and equitable growth. He noted that the government implemented the 200-unit free electricity scheme for low and middle-income households and assured that all eligible families in Jubilee Hills would be covered.
Referring to the Kolluru two-bedroom housing complex, he said the government had sanctioned ten ration shops, of which five are operational, and promised that the rest, along with water, power, and civic works, would be completed soon.
“The Congress government believes in results, not rhetoric. Whatever we promise, we fulfil. The government’s credibility rests on delivery, and Jubilee Hills will be a reflection of that commitment,” Uttam Kumar Reddy said.
Praising Naveen Yadav as an educated and service-oriented BC leader, he urged voters to support him in the November 11 by-election. “A Congress victory will sustain the momentum of welfare and development across this constituency. Only Congress combines governance with compassion,” he added.
Uttam Kumar Reddy emphasized that while Congress continues to be the main national challenger to the BJP, the government’s immediate priority is to ensure welfare-based and inclusive progress in Telangana.
“We have taken note of every issue raised by residents — from ration supply to civic amenities. Jubilee Hills, including Kolluru, will soon become a model for welfare-oriented governance,” he concluded.
