MANUU Finds Place In QS Asia Rankings

  • Maulana Azad National Urdu University ranked in 1101–1200 band

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has secured a spot in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2026. The university is placed in the 1101–1200 band among 1,500 academic institutions across the continent. The annual rankings are published by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a leading global higher education analytics organization known for its widely accepted world university ranking system.

MANUU, a Central University, was established to expand access to higher education for Urdu-speaking populations across India. It provides education through both regular and distance learning modes, with a particular emphasis on promoting women’s education. The institution’s inclusion in the QS Asia Rankings highlights its growing academic visibility and progress within the region.

Among the central universities from Telangana, the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) was positioned in the 1401–1500 band. Osmania University and the University of Hyderabad were also recognized in the latest QS list. A total of 292 academic institutions from India found a place in the QS Asia rankings, reflecting the country’s expanding presence in regional higher education.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan expressed happiness over MANUU’s achievement. He said the university is constantly working to improve its performance in various academic categories. “The university is also ahead in implementing the National Education Policy,” he noted, adding that continued improvements in quality and research are key focus areas. He further mentioned that two scientific papers authored by a scholar from MANUU’s Physics Department were recently published in the prestigious international journal Scientific Reports.

Registrar Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed congratulated the MANUU community for achieving this milestone. He remarked that being listed among the best universities in Asia brings both pride and greater responsibility. “This distinction increases our responsibility towards the institution, and we need to work hard to further improve our position,” he said, commending the faculty and research teams for their commitment to excellence.
