Rahul Gandhi Detained By Police For Protesting Against CEC Gyanesh Kumar

Rahul Gandhi Detained | New Delhi, Oct. 6: INDIA bloc leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Abhishek Banerjee and Akhilesh Yadav, were detained during a protest march towards the Election Commission in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The opposition leaders began the march from Parliament Street and were stopped by police near the NITI Aayog and Akashvani Bhawan area. Several leaders were detained and taken away in buses.

The protesters were demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and raising objections to the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

Opposition leaders alleged irregularities in the electoral roll revision process and questioned changes related to voter registration. They also demanded greater transparency in the electoral process.

The Election Commission has maintained that decisions related to the revision exercise were taken unanimously and according to legal procedures.

After the march was stopped, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra continued their protest at Akashvani Bhawan. Rahul Gandhi also climbed a police barricade during the demonstration before the protesters were detained.
