Hyderabad, Oct. 6: Attapur police and Rajendranagar Task Force arrested two men for allegedly breaking into a house at night and stealing cash and gold worth around Rs 24 lakh.
Police identified the accused as Mohammed Osman, 28, a hair salon businessman, and Syed Anwar, 20, a delivery worker. Both are residents of the Hassan Nagar area in Attapur.
According to police, the housebreaking occurred during the intervening night of September 25 and 26 at a residence near Madina Masjid in Hassan Nagar.

Police said the complainant, Syed Hamed, is a businessman who kept cash at his residence. The accused allegedly knew about the cash and planned the theft.
According to the investigation, both accused attended a family function hosted by Hamed on September 25. Police alleged that they later used the opportunity to enter his house during the night.
Police said Anwar allegedly remained on the terrace while Osman entered the house carrying a hammer and screwdriver. He allegedly broke open bedroom locks and an almirah before stealing Rs 23 lakh in cash and around five tolas of gold jewellery.
Police arrested both accused on October 6. They seized Rs 8.50 lakh in cash, two mobile phones, a hammer and a screwdriver.
The arrests were carried out under the supervision of Rajendranagar Zone DCP S. Sreenivas and other senior police officials. Further investigation is underway.
