Telangana MLAs disqualification | Hyderabad, Nov. 7: Hearings on disqualification petitions against Telangana MLAs who switched parties entered the second day on Friday.

Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, who examined four legislators during the first phase, has scheduled hearings for four more in the second round.

On Thursday, Speaker Prasad Kumar conducted hearings for Bhadrachalam MLA Tellam Venkata Rao and Jagtial MLA Sanjay.

Telangana MLAs disqualification | Second Phase of Hearings Continues

Today at 11 a.m., the case between Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and Jagadish Reddy is set for hearing, where Jagadish Reddy will be cross-examined by Pocharam’s legal team.

Another case between Arikepudi Gandhi and Kalvakuntla Sanjay will be heard at 12 noon, with Gandhi’s advocates expected to question Sanjay.

Speaker Prasad Kumar is personally overseeing all proceedings. Hearings for additional cases are likely on November 12 and 13.

Following the Supreme Court’s directive to take action against defected MLAs within three months, the Speaker initiated proceedings and issued notices to ten legislators accused of defection.

Eight MLAs have responded to the notices, while Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender and Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari have yet to reply.

The Speaker’s decision regarding these two pending cases is awaited.
