Satish Shah, one of the victims, said that his family has been living there for decades. He stated that they have been cultivating the land since 1968. He alleged that Ponguleti Harsha Reddy approached them and asked for land to build a road. However, when he refused, he said Srinivas Reddy came a few days later.

He further alleged that the land was surveyed without any notice. He added that the High Court had quashed the survey notices. Despite this, he claimed that their people were attacked and threatened by goons. He also said that he was ordered to provide police protection if they approached the High Court.
