Hyderabad, April 29 (Maxim News): Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy wrote a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on issue of suspension of works of Nalgonda irrigation projects. He alleged that the CM had stopped the works at Srisailam tunnel route, Brahmana vellamla, Udaya samudram lift irrigation and Dindi projects in order to turn Nalgonda into a dessert.
He told the CM all the projects were the long cherished dreams of undivided Nalgonda district. Reddy said that former CM T. Anjaiah laid the foundation stone for SLBC in 1981 and added that the works of the project could not be completed due to the negligence of the successive rulers of the state. He said that the former CM and their party leader YS Rajasekhar Reddy had taken up the works on a war footing in the year 2005. Reminding the CM that he promised to complete the tunnel route by personally sitting at the project area before the 2014 assembly elections, he told the CM the project works were not completed for six kilometres even after six years of his promise. He alleged that the CM was deliberately ignoring the district to take revenge from Nalgonda people. He told the CM that the Brahmana Vellamla and Udaya Samudram projects were aimed at irrigating one lakh acres of land. He said that the two projects would transform Nalgonda, Chityala, Kattangoor, Shakigouraram and Narketpalli areas.
He told the CM that the projects would be completed by spending ₹100 crore. He demanded the CM to complete the projects in the next three months while advising the CM to not play with the lives of the people of the state for their political interests. He also made it clear to the CM that Telangana didn’t mean only kaleswaram project. He warned that they would agitate against the state government if it continued to give step motherly treatment with Nalgonda district. (Maxim News)
