Hyderabad, May 14: Voter list revision in GHMC faces chaos as technical issues and lack of training among field staff affect verification and data accuracy.
Complaints have increased since the revision began on May 1. Officials deployed Anganwadi staff and sanitation workers as Booth Level Officers. However, many lack clarity on using the Sir mobile application.
Former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav raised concerns over delays and errors. He wrote to GHMC Commissioner Karnan highlighting field level problems.
Talasani said BLOs are not conducting door to door verification as required. Instead, some are calling voters to polling stations, which affects survey accuracy.
He also pointed to confusion after staff were assigned census duties from May 11. This, he said, has further slowed the revision process.
Talasani urged authorities to issue clear instructions. He also demanded technical staff to handle the mobile app and a dedicated help desk for support.
Meanwhile, BRS leader Pawan Kumar Goud alleged lack of transparency in the process. He said untrained staff have been assigned critical responsibilities.
He added that some workers are unable to enter data or complete mapping tasks. As a result, people are facing confusion during verification.
He submitted a representation to the GHMC Commissioner at the headquarters. He urged immediate steps to ensure proper implementation of the voter list revision.
