Voter Registration: GHMC Urges All 18+ Citizens by Sept 17

Voter Registration | Hyderabad, September 15: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner and Hyderabad District Election Officer R.V. Karnan has urged all citizens who turned 18 on or before July 1, 2025, to register as voters.

The appeal comes as part of the Special Summary Revision (SSR)–2025 for the 61-Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency in Hyderabad District of Telangana.

He stressed that every eligible citizen must complete the process by September 17 to secure their right to vote.

Karnan explained that the Election Commission has provided simple options for registration.

Citizens can use Form 6 for new enrollment, Form 7 to raise objections or remove names, and Form 8 to update details such as change of address, corrections, replacement of voter ID cards, or marking disability status.

To make registration easier, voters can apply online through the Voter Helpline App or visit official websites like ceotelangana.nic.in, ecinet.eci.gov.in, and eci.gov.in. For those who prefer offline help, Booth Level Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, and Electoral Registration Officers are available in every area.

The District Election Officer’s office is also open for support. In addition, citizens can dial the toll-free number 1950 for quick assistance.

The Commissioner reminded everyone that voting is not just a right but also a responsibility.

By registering and casting their vote, citizens play an active role in shaping the future of their constituency.

He appealed especially to first-time voters to come forward and ensure their names are included in the electoral rolls before the deadline.
