Voting For Municipal Elections Ongoing: 48.54 % Polling Till 1 PM

Hyderabad, Feb 11 (Maxim News): Polling for the municipal elections is underway across the state. 48.54 percent polling has been recorded till 1 pm. Voters are lining up at polling stations to exercise their right to vote. However, during the polling, the ruling Congress party is committing atrocities in many areas. The opposition BRS has launched attacks here and there.

The police are also showing bias towards the ruling Congress and are acting harshly towards the opposition. In Banswada Municipality, a constable stationed near a polling booth enticed voters to vote for the Congress party. In Lakshettipet Municipality in Mancherial district, a BRS party agent was prevented from entering the polling station. He was dragged out.

BJP workers attacked BRS workers in Narsapur Municipality of Medak district. As the BRS turned against them, people from both sides grabbed sticks and beat them up. In Yellareddy Municipality of Kamareddy district, BRS leader and former MLA Jajala Surender protested, alleging that the police were acting in favor of Congress MLA Madanmohan Rao. (Maxim News)
