Hyderabad, March 30 (Maxim News): The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency received 58 complaints regarding road encroachments in various colonies on March 30, 2026.
Most complaints highlighted illegal occupation of internal colony roads and obstruction of drainage channels.
Residents reported that plot owners blocked dead end roads by extending boundaries.
In some areas, new layouts allegedly obstructed existing storm water and sewer drains. As a result, residents said access roads and water flow faced disruption.
In Ranga Reddy district, residents of Anjanadri Nagar layout at Kuntloor village raised a complaint.
They said the layout covers about 15 acres with nearly 800 plots. However, adjoining developers allegedly shifted boundaries and removed some plots along with the access road.

Another complaint came from Manneguda village near Turkayamjal on Nagarjuna Sagar Road. Residents alleged encroachment of a 30 feet road.
They said a transformer and a temple compound wall now stand on the road.
Complainants also said their plots received Layout Regularisation Scheme approval. They claimed the approved layout included the road.
However, they alleged that some persons now demand payment to allow road access.
In Hayathnagar mandal, residents of Mahalakshmi Nagar near Vanasthalipuram reported flooding problems.
They alleged that a nearby commercial layout blocked storm water and sewage drains. Therefore, they said rainwater now enters their residential area.
Residents from a gated layout near a convention centre in Patancheru also filed a complaint. They alleged illegal occupation of a central park area in the name of temple construction. They requested immediate intervention.
Complaints also came from the Nacharam and Mallapur main road. Residents said some structures extended onto the road.
In Rajendranagar zone, residents of TNGO Colony in Mailardevpally alleged encroachment of a 1,200 square yard park. They also reported attempts to occupy a 40 feet road.
Another complaint from Budwel village alleged encroachment of a flood channel leading to Pattikunta lake.
Residents warned that such activity may increase flood risk.
HYDRA Commissioner A V Ranganath reviewed all complaints. He assigned the issues to concerned officials for resolution. Officials said action will follow verification.
