Warangal Collector Gifts Smart Phone to Poor Student
Warangal Rural: A timely response by the District Collector M Haritha has come in handy for a poor Intermediate student of Narsampet town.
Speaking to mediapersons, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) G Mahender Reddy said that he had handed over the smart phone worth Rs 10,000 to Mahmooda on Tuesday at her parents’ residence in Narsampet facilitating her to attend online Inter classes and prepare for the Polycet-2021.
“Mahmooda’s father Mahmood Pasha, a private teacher, lost his job due to the closure of the school following the COVID-19. Mahmooda, who is the elder daughter, completed her 10th class from a Government Minority Residential School, and she is preparing for the Polytechnic entrance test besides attending the Inter classes,” Mahender Reddy said adding that Pasha could not buy a smartphone for his daughter due to poor financial conditions.
After proper enquiry, the officials have submitted a report to the Collector stating that the girl is poor and she can be given a smartphone considering her conditions. Following this, Mahomooda and family members expressed gratitude to District Collector Haritha for responding to the plea at the earliest. Child Welfare Committee (CWC) chairperson K Vasudha and member Shahidha were also present during handing over of the smartphone to Mahmooda.
