Warangal Woman Constable | Warangal / Hyderabad, Jan. 30: A woman police constable died by suicide in Warangal district after allegedly facing sustained harassment linked to a personal relationship, prompting police to register a case against two men.
The deceased, identified as Anita, was serving in the Armed Reserve section of the Warangal Police Commissionerate. Anitra hailed from Seethya Thanda in Parvathagiri mandal of Warangal district, according to officials.

Police said Anita was allegedly harassed for several years by a distant relative, Rajender, a resident of Kommanapalli Thanda in Torrur mandal of Mahabubabad district.
Rajender reportedly promised to marry her and monitored her movements, including insisting on video calls during duty hours and objecting to her interacting with others.
Officials said Anita’s parents opposed the marriage, citing Rajender’s behaviour. During this period, Rajender allegedly informed another man, Jabbar Lal, about Anita by providing misleading information. Police said Jabbar Lal then began harassing her separately.
According to the complaint, Jabbar Lal allegedly demanded money and pressured her, claiming marriage would be possible only if his conditions were met. Investigators said Anita was under severe mental stress due to harassment from both individuals.
Police said Anita contacted Rajender shortly before her death and told him that her life had been ruined by their actions. Officials said his alleged response showed disregard for her distress.
Anita later consumed pesticide and died by suicide. Police confirmed that a case has been registered against Rajender and Jabbar Lal, and an investigation is underway to determine the sequence of events and fix accountability.
Officials said further action will be taken based on evidence collected during the investigation.
