WATCH: ASHA Workers Protest At DMHO Office In Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Feb. 23 (Maxim News): ASHA workers staged a protest in the city, alleging that they have not received salaries for the past three months. As a result, tensions prevailed near the DMHO office in Koti.

Hundreds of ASHA workers gathered at the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) office and demanded immediate release of their pending wages. They said the delay has caused severe financial hardship.
Therefore, they sought urgent intervention from the authorities.

However, when police tried to prevent them from entering the premises, a scuffle broke out.

In the process, police attempted to disperse the protesters. During the commotion, one ASHA worker suddenly fainted, creating panic at the spot. Subsequently, police shifted her to a hospital in an ambulance for treatment.

Meanwhile, union leaders alleged that the police behaved harshly towards women workers who were protesting peacefully. They expressed strong anger over the incident.

The ASHA workers also placed several key demands before the government. They urged the state to allocate sufficient funds in the Assembly Budget sessions to resolve their issues.

In addition, they demanded that their minimum monthly honorarium be increased to ₹18,000.

Furthermore, they called for immediate implementation of the ₹1,500 incentive hike announced by the Central government.

If their demands are not addressed, they warned that the agitation would be intensified in the coming days. (Maxim News)
