WATCH | Deepfake Crimes: Chiranjeevi Urges Strong Action

Hyderabad, Oct. 31 (Maxim News): Actor and former Union Minister Chiranjeevi has expressed concern over the growing threat of deepfake videos, describing the technology as a “double-edged sword.”

Speaking at the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations, he said he had already brought the issue to the attention of the police.

He revealed that Director General of Police Shivadhar Reddy and Cyberabad Commissioner Stephen Raveendra Sajjanar had taken the matter seriously.

Chiranjeevi added that Commissioner Sajjanar himself is personally monitoring the ongoing investigation into recent deepfake-related incidents.

Police Monitoring Deepfake Cases Closely

Chiranjeevi lauded the Telangana Police for their swift response, saying the force remains strong and committed to public safety.

He assured citizens that they need not fear deepfake or other cybercrimes, as the police are providing full support to victims.

He emphasized that responsible use of technology is vital to prevent misuse that can damage reputations and social harmony.

His remarks come amid a rise in fake and manipulated videos circulating online, prompting authorities to tighten cyber vigilance across the state. (Maxim News)
