A tragic road accident in Hyderabad’s Shastripuram area of the Mailardevpally division left residents in shock after an 8-year-old boy was crushed to death by a speeding lorry. The gruesome accident took place when the child, identified as Syed Riyan Uddin, was walking along the road with his friends. According to local residents, the lorry hit the boy while taking a sharp U-turn, leading to his instantaneous death under the vehicle’s wheels.

Eyewitnesses said the fatal incident was caused by the lorry driver’s negligence. After realizing the gravity of what had happened, the driver abandoned the vehicle at the spot and fled. Riyan Uddin’s friends who witnessed the tragedy ran away in panic. Shocked locals alerted the police immediately by dialing 100 and gathered at the accident spot. The incident triggered deep sorrow and anger among residents of the area.

The Mailardevpally police reached the site soon after receiving the distress call. They seized the body of the deceased and sent it to a nearby hospital for postmortem. Preliminary police reports confirmed that the cause of the accident was the driver’s careless handling of the vehicle. Authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation. A manhunt has also been initiated to trace and arrest the absconding lorry driver.

The death of young Riyan Uddin has cast a pall of grief over his family and the entire Shastripuram neighborhood. Locals expressed outrage and demanded that officials take immediate and strong action to prevent such incidents in the future.
