Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) Managing Director Ashok Reddy expressed concern over the prolonged issue, stating that the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) initially assured that the interruptions would last only 12 hours.

“The water board had to shift the PSC pipeline to another place to carry out road work at BHEL Junction. NHAI took the responsibility of this work. It told the water board that it would complete the work in 12 hours,” (sic.) Reddy remarked, as quoted by The media.

The HMWSSB had previously announced that water supply would be affected from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on March 8. However, even after 30 hours, the NHAI has not completed the pipeline shifting work. Reddy urged the NHAI to expedite the process to minimise inconvenience to residents.

With the repair work still incomplete, the water supply may remain affected for a week in several areas, including:

Division 6: Erragadda, S.R. Nagar, Ameerpet

Division 9: KPHB Colony, Kukatpally, Moosapet, Jagadgirigutta

Division 17: RC Puram, Ashok Nagar, Jyoti Nagar, Lingampalli, Chandanagar, Gangaram, Madinaguda, Miyapur

Division 22: Deepti Sri Nagar, Biranguda, Aminpur, Nizampet
