Water Tankers in Trouble: HYDRAA Targets Lake Looters
Water Tankers | Hyderabad, June 30 (Maxim News): It is known that HYDRAA has focused on the conservation of Sunnam Lake. HYDRAA, which demolished illegal structures on the morning of June 30, has registered criminal cases at the Madhapur police station against those involved in illegal water trading in Sunnam lake.
The police have registered cases against Venkatesh, who has been running the water trading business for decades, along with some others. Lakhs of rupees have been seized from the shed of a borehole trader who is continuing the water trading business. Water tankers have been seized.
HYDRAA has removed boreholes and sheds. HYDRAA has vacated and removed the sheds and huts set up by the traders.
HYDRAA is carrying out restoration work on the 32-acre pond. Even though it is known that the water from the borewells there is toxic, the water business is not stopping; it has been said that the borewells near the smelly time pond contain hazardous chemicals and heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, and nickel.
Water Tankers in Trouble
HYDRAA, which has conducted PCB tests, has warned that under no circumstances should that water be supplied to hostels, residences, and offices as drinking water. Despite warnings not to use that water, the water business is not stopping.
What is disturbing is that it has been learned that a person who has drilled three boreholes next to this pond is supplying this water through tankers to several IT companies, private hostels, educational institutions, and hotels in Madhapur.
While some private hostels and hotel managers are purifying this water and using it for drinking. It is reported that IT companies and educational institutions are using it for other purposes. There are thousands of students and jobbers in the hostels here. Along with those doing software jobs in IT companies, there are many children taking IIT and medical coaching.
Now that the issue of Sunnam Cheruvu water supply has come to light, there is concern about their health condition. HYDRA has registered a case against the person who is drilling boreholes and supplying water. HYDRA has registered cases against the owners of water tanks supplying water within the Sunnam cheruvu area. (Maxim News)
