We Follow Sarvepally Ideals: Srihari
Hyderabad, Sept.5 (Maxim News): The Telangana Government today conducted on a grand scale the birth anniversary of late President Dr Sarvepally Radhakrishnan across the State.
At Ravindra Bharathi here, deputy chief ministers Kadium Srihari, Mohammed Mahamood Ali, Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy, BJP MP Dattatraya, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and teachers and students from various schools attended the program. On the occasion, the ministers felicitated 143 best teachers with citations, cash prizes and mementoes.
Speaking on the occasion, Srihari said Radhakrishnan was a teacher before becoming President of India. His services to education sector and to the country were noteworthy and ideals can be replicated, Srihari said. The State government was planning to hike salaries of contract teachers and resolve their issues. The State government was also providing higher education to all with quality.
As a part of KG to PG scheme, 611 Gurukul institutions were started in Telangana and giving education to all sections in the society, including, SC, ST, BC, Minorities and others. “We are trying to resolve the issues of the teachers”, he said. Srihari asked the former to put in persistent efforts to roll out the students with knowledge, standards to lead better life and serve back the society. The role of the teachers is key for developing the students who are future of the country, he remarked.
KGBVs will be extended to Intermediate level, he said and appreciated that student per cent in the government junior and degree colleges was increased to 45 per cent and also improved results.(Maxim News)
