Why BJP Not Extend OBC Quota To Muslim Women: Asaduddin Owaisi

Hyderabad, Nov 8 (Maxim News): Reacting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement of making the BC leader a Chief Minister of Telangana State and giving more priority to the BCs in the allotment of seats for the coming Assembly election, the AIMIM Chief and Hyderabad MP has pointed out that why did not the BJP increase the reservation of backward classes to 50 percent, why were not the OBC women and women from minority and backward communities not included in the Bill?

While addressing a public gathering in Hyderabad, he said that no justifications being given to get into the law is to ensure more women get elected to Parliament and State Assemblies it is not extended to OBC and Muslim women, he said Muslim women are 7 percent of the population but their representation in the Lok Sabha is only 0.7 percent. The annual dropout rate for Muslim women is 19 percent while for other women it is 12 percent

Asaduddin Owaisi hit out at the BJP over the issue of reservation to the backward classes, questioning why a leader from the Munnuru Kapu caste, was not chosen as the President of. the BJP in Telangana

He pointed out that PM Modi said that the next Chief Minister of the BJP in the state would be from a backward caste if the party is voted to power, he questioned why a leader from the Munnuru Kapu caste (Dharmapuri Arvind) was not chosen as the President of the BJP in Telangana.

PM Modi came to Lal Bahadur Stadium and made big declarations for backward classes.  Earlier, there was a backward-class president from Munnuru Kapu in the BJP and you changed him to G.Kishan Reddy, Why did you do that?” Owaisi said while referring to Dharmapuri Arvind, who belongs to the Munnuru Kapu caste. (Maxim News)
