Hyderabad, Sept 28 (Maxim News): Courting controversy, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday asked farmers opposing land acquisition for Bharat Future City and road infrastructure to resolve disputes amicably out of court, instead of paying hefty fees to advocates.
He said plans were being drawn up to develop Bharat Future City on par with global cities. While such large-scale projects could cause inconvenience or loss to a few, the government would address their concerns. He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the Future City Development Authority (FCDA) office at Meerkhanpet.
“Why do we need courts? I am prepared to discuss and address your problems. Congress MLA Malreddy Rangareddy and leader K Laxma Reddy are supporting. I appeal to people to support the government,” Revanth said. He added that “a person who lost a case would cry in court, while a person who won the case would cry at home after going bankrupt paying advocate’s fees.”
He urged farmers not to work for advocates’ survival or get carried away by political narratives. Ranga Reddy Collector and TGIIC officials had been instructed to work out out-of-court settlements with farmers and landowners.
“There is no provision to pay even a rupee more than what courts finalise, but out-of-court settlement will help in offering liberal compensation,” the Chief Minister said.
Revanth announced that works on the FCDA building, radial road and Skills University would begin in December. “I will sit here thrice a month. Companies wanting to invest in Future City must meet us at the FCDA office, not in the Secretariat,” he said, directing Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu to visit Future City four times a month.
“If we all work from here, all systems will eventually come here,” he said, instructing the Industries Minister to allot 10 acres to Singareni Company for constructing its corporate office by December 2026.
The Chief Minister alleged conspiracies were being hatched to stall Future City. He dismissed allegations that he owned land in the proposed city, saying it was being built keeping in view the requirements of future generations.
“Give me 10 years and I will develop Bharat Future City in a way that people who visit New York will also appreciate it,” Revanth said.
“Bharat Future City will have bullet train connectivity to Bengaluru, Amaravati and Chennai. At present, Hyderabad has only 85 Fortune 500 companies, but in 10 years, I will ensure all Fortune 500 companies invest in Bharat Future City,” he claimed (Maxim News)
