Hyderabad, Jan 9 (Maxim News): HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath expressed his anger as to why the irrigation authorities are not paying attention to the encroachment of ponds and kuntas.

On Thursday, Ranganath, responding to recent media reports that Gollavani Kunta and Dharmaji Kunta in Shamshabad Municipality had been encroached upon, personally inspected them. Gollavani Kunta is located in Survey No. 104 within the limits of Shamshabad Municipality and covers an area of 22 acres and 23 guntas.

He said that Dharmajikunta is located in Survey No. 73 and covers an area of 10 acres and 12 pits. But here, Gollavani Kunta is being destroyed and huge buildings are being constructed. He said that he has also noticed that Dharmaji Kunta FTL and buffer zones are being encroached upon and construction is being carried out. He warned that legal action will be taken against those who encroach on Dharmaji Kunta. He said that action will be taken against those who encroach on Dhamajikunta, no matter who they are.

When the Commissioner asked the officials who were building the dam to bury Dharmaji Kunta, they explained that it was the relatives of the Congress MLA. With this, the officials were ordered to remove the wall construction and remove the soil from the pond within two days. He warned that action would be taken if the officials were found to be negligent.  (Maxim News)
