Woman Commits Suicide After SI Harassment In Suryapet
- Family alleges police officer fabricated theft case causing death
- Past corruption charges surface against SI Kranti Kumar in Suryapet
A woman from Suryapet district ended her life after alleged harassment by a Sub-Inspector over a theft case. The woman, identified as Somanarsamma from Vempalli village in Tungaturthi mandal, reportedly took the extreme step because she was unable to bear the humiliation connected to the allegations against her. Family members claimed that she ended her life due to continuous harassment by the officer.
According to information, police had registered a theft case against Somanarsamma two days ago for allegedly stealing 2.5 tolas of gold. Feeling distressed and humiliated by the accusation, she committed suicide by hanging herself. Her relatives accused Sub-Inspector Kranti Kumar of fabricating the case and tormenting her, leading to her death. They stated that the officer’s actions had pushed her to this tragic end.
Family members are demanding justice and called for action against the officer. They blamed corruption and negligence within the local police force, particularly pointing to alleged past misconduct by SI Kranti Kumar. They said, “She committed suicide because the SI had fabricated an illegal case and harassed her,” holding him directly responsible for their loss.
Reports indicate that Kranti Kumar had faced corruption allegations earlier. He was suspended in the past over his involvement in the sale of goats in Neredugommu mandal. The family also alleged widespread corruption in Marriguda and urged authorities to investigate thoroughly. The incident has caused widespread outrage in the area, as residents demand accountability and fair treatment for victims of alleged police harassment.
